Tired of general health advice that doesn't work — anyone got something real?

I'm gonna give you the lowdown on health supplements. Honestly, I think most people get confused about what actually works.

I'm not a doctor, but I've been around the block a few times and done some research. Following a health scare last year, I started looking into supplements pretty intensely. I took omega-3s because I'd heard they were good for heart health. But tbh, it was kinda a gamble: how do I know if I even needed them? And how did I even get them to work for me? I took 'em for a few months and felt somewhat better I guess.

But, let's talk about sleep. When my therapist suggested I track my sleep, I was like no way, really? That's a hassle. But honestly, it was super helpful. I started setting alarms to tell me when I was waking up in my sleep (yes, it happens), and I noticed pretty quick that my sleep quality sort of improved.

So, here's the thing: while some people swear by these stuff, I'm not convinced that one-size-fits-all supplements are the answer. I've heard stories of people using 'em for years and never seeing a change. And tbh, some of my friends have taken these supplements and literally gotten no result whatever.

That being said, there ARE some interesting supplements out there. Magnesium for muscle cramps, probiotics for my gut health... all things that honestly, I was kinda skeptical about, but now I'm like 'Yeah, I get what my body's trying to tell me'.

Results vary a lot, obviously, so don't take my word for it, and PLEASE, don't start popping random supplements without talking to a doctor first. Honestly, I still get frustrated that I wasted SO much money on 'healthy' stuff that literally DID NOTHING.

Actually, I wish I'd just stuck to my doctor's advice, which was simply just eat better and exercise more! I mean, seriously, don't get me wrong, healthy supplements can be helpful sort of... kind of?
